Yango provides mobile and web-based applications (hereinafter “application” or “applications”) offering a wide range of services, including ride-hailing, food and package delivery, e-commerce, and fintech services.
1.What Is This Privacy Notice For?
You entrust us with your personal data, and we take this responsibility seriously. We are committed to protecting your privacy, and to being transparent about how we handle your information.
This Privacy Notice explains what personal data we collect, how and why we use and share it, as well as the rights you have as a data subject.
2.Who Is Processing Your Personal Data?
2.1 Your personal data is processed by the company that provides the service in the country in which you are using this service.
This company acts as a data controller under applicable privacy laws, and determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data.
If two or more controllers jointly determine the purposes and means of the processing of personal data, they are joint controllers. In this case, the first joint controller mentioned in the table is responsible for exercising your rights as a data subject and is your contact point. The joint controller mentioned in the second place is responsible for providing the technical means to help you exercise your rights.

3.2 This personal data is mandatory to register an account: name or pseudonym, and phone number. An email address is also required to register an account in Finland and Norway. If you choose not to provide this information, you will not be able to register your account.
This personal data is mandatory to register a Yango Pay account: name, phone number, and national ID. If you choose not to provide this information, you will not be able to register your account. The national ID is used to carry out the mandatory Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) verifications. If you choose not to provide a national ID, you will only be able to use the limited functionality of Yango Pay.
This personal data is mandatory to use your account: destination or delivery addresses. If you choose not to provide this information, you will not be able to place an order.
3.3 You may refuse to give your consent to the processing of your personal data, and it will not affect your ability to use our applications. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us or using automated means, if they are available in your application and/or in your country.
3.4 Audio and video recording in a vehicle is an emergency feature. It will only be used in exceptional cases of threat, conflict, or danger when the driver activates the Conflict Button in accordance with the Yango Terms of Use. Both the user and the driver are notified prior to the start of the recording for dispute resolution and security purposes.
4.How Is Your Personal Data Protected?
4.1 We have implemented appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised, accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, modification, misuse, disclosure or access, and against all other unlawful processing.
4.2 These security measures have been implemented taking into account the state of the art, the cost of implementation, the risks posed by the processing, and the nature of the personal data concerned.
4.3 Personal data is processed automatically without access by our staff in most cases. However, if such access is necessary, your personal data can only be accessed by employees whose duties require the use of this information. These employees are required to follow internal rules and protocols for processing personal data, and to comply with technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal data.
5.Who Do We Share Your Personal Data with?
5.1 Your personal data is shared with parties directly involved in the provision of the services within the application:
- Our partners who are involved in obtaining and handling your order and who provide software solutions for the same purpose;
- Payment service providers, e-wallets providers, and mobile money service providers that facilitate electronic transactions;
- Insurance companies;
- Our partners who provide us with electronic payment functionality and carry out anti-money laundering and know your customer verifications;
- If relevant to your country, our partners who issue virtual bank cards to our users;
- Our partners who provide loans to Yango Pay users;
- Our affiliates who provide authentication tools;
- Our affiliates and third parties who provide us with servers, data storage, and other infrastructure facilities; and
- Our affiliates and third parties who assist us with customer support.

Not all the entities listed are necessarily involved in the processing of your personal data, as their involvement depends on the service you use and the country where you use it.
5.2 Your personal data is shared with parties entitled to receive your personal data under the law to which the relevant data controller is subject:
- For example, if law enforcement authorities have a lawful right to have access to your personal data, or financial regulators are duly entitled to investigate suspicious activities or transactions (according to the applicable law in your country and/or the country where our entity providing a service to you is incorporated).
5.3 Your personal data is shared with parties helping us to improve our applications:
- For example, data about technical errors encountered while using our services are shared with our affiliates who are involved in the development of our applications.
5.4 Your personal data is shared with parties helping us to inform you about products, services, and offers:
- For example, advertising or device identifiers may be shared with companies that provide us with advertising or analytics services.
6.Who Do We Transfer Your Personal Data to?
Parties we share your personal data with may be located in different countries.
Some of these countries may not provide the same level of data protection or data subject rights as the country where you use a service. In such cases, we follow the necessary procedures to ensure that your rights are respected and that your personal data are protected during and after the transfer.
Such procedures may include (subject to applicable privacy laws):
i) Data protection commitments for data transfers through standard contractual clauses issued by relevant authorities;
ii) Additional contractual obligations based on our assessment of the local law of the country where your personal data are transferred and processed;

iv) Additional technical and organisational security measures to prevent unlawful, i.e. incompatible with the laws of the country where we provide the service, or unauthorised access to your personal data.

7.How Long Will Your Personal Data Be Retained?
7.1 We process your personal data until the purpose of the processing has been achieved.
7.2 The actual retention period depends on the personal data processed and the country where the processing takes place. 7.3 We may continue to process your personal data, even after you deleted it from our applications, if such processing is required by law or is necessary to protect our rights and interests or the rights and interests of third parties, in particular in the context of court proceedings.
The ability to delete data may also be limited by laws relating to freedom of expression and information.
8.What Are Your Rights?
You have a number of rights under privacy laws. The rights you have depend on the purpose for which we process your personal data, and the applicable law.
You can always access, rectify, or erase your personal data yourself after logging into the application using our authentication tool.
You may exercise the following rights by contacting our customer support team through our applications.
8.1 Right of access
You always have access to your personal data. You have the right to request a copy of your personal information.
8.2 Right to rectification
You have the right to ask us to update or rectify information that you believe is incorrect, inaccurate, or outdated. You also have the right to ask us to complete any information that you believe is incomplete.
8.3 Right to withdraw consent
You have the right to withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data where such processing is based on your consent.
8.4 Right to erasure
You have the right to ask us to erase your personal data in certain circumstances, for example, if the data is no longer needed for our purposes, if we process your data without a valid legal basis or otherwise unlawfully, if you have withdrawn your consent (if the processing was based on your consent), if we collected your data when you were a child, or in other circumstances according to applicable laws.
8.5 Right to restriction of processing
You have the right to restrict the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances, for example, if you wish to exercise your right to rectification, you may request that we restrict the processing of your data until it has been rectified.
8.6 Right to data portability
If your personal data is processed by automated means based on your consent or based on a contract with us (e.g. to provide you with the features of the application), you have the right to receive your data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.
8.7 Right to object
You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data if you consider that the processing violates your rights. Please note that the right to object can only be exercised if we are processing your data on the basis of legitimate interests or public interest.
You have the right not to be subjected to a decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling.
8.8 Right to lodge a complaint
We are always ready to consider your complaints and suggestions. Please send them to our customer support team.
If you believe that your rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in the country of your habitual residence, place of work, or place of the alleged infringement.

9.1 If you need assistance, you can contact the customer support team through the mobile application after logging in.
9.2 In Finland, data protection inquiries should be directed to Cabs tek Oy by email at cabstekfi@gmail.com.
9.3 In Norway, for data protection matters, you should contact Sentral Oslo Cabs AS by email at oslocabs@gmail.com.
9.4. For countries other than Finland and Norway, our Data Protection Officer (DPO) can be contacted by email at dpo-yt@yango.com.
9.5 Please include the phone number you used to register with our application in your message to identify you promptly and process your request efficiently.
10. How Is This Document Modified?
In the event of substantial changes to this Privacy Notice, we may use any available means (push notification in the application, SMS, or email) to notify you.
