Yango SuperApp Launches Real-Time Traffic Feature to Help Navigate City Traffic

The new feature in the SuperApp provides live traffic updates and suggests even more efficient routes, helping millions optimize their daily commutes — whether driving, ordering a taxi or using public transport.

In response to the steady rise in traffic congestion across Peru’s major cities, Yango SuperApp today announced the launch of the new Traffic Score feature, a new real-time average traffic rating system, available through the Yango Navigator service. Now active in Lima, Trujillo, and Arequipa, the tool is designed to transform how people move around the city by providing accurate, up-to-date data that supports smarter decisions about routes and travel times.

The system rates traffic conditions on a scale from 1 to 10, where 1 indicates completely clear roads and 10 represents total gridlock. To make this information easy to interpret, the rating is presented visually using a color-coded scale from green to deep red, so any user — regardless of technical background — can quickly understand street conditions. The tool is prominently displayed on the app’s home screen, ensuring quick and easy access at the start of any trip.

This new feature may be useful not only for drivers: users of other mobility options, such as ride-hailing, buses, or shared transport, also can check the traffic along the planned route in advance in order to choose the best timing for the trip. When driving, if traffic conditions change mid-route, the app automatically suggests alternative routes based on the updated situation, using smart mapping algorithms and real-time data.
