Yango Group is looking for a bilingual Portuguese-English Public Relations Manager in Mozambique to lead communications for Yango services. You will drive brand reputation, manage complex communications tasks, and work closely with leadership on high-impact initiatives. The role involves developing and executing PR strategies for Yango SuperApp, ride-hailing, and other services in Lusophone Africa, ensuring alignment with business goals.
You will be responsible for
• Planning, managing, and executing high-impact PR campaigns, including product launches and brand storytelling efforts • Managing media relations by building and maintaining strong relationships with journalists, editors, and key local media outlets • Handling crisis communication and reputation management, ensuring effective risk mitigation and response strategies • Developing proactive, data-driven content that positions Yango as a thought leader, including press releases, interviews, and statements • Managing local PR agencies and ensuring their deliverables align with Yango’s communication goals and global standards • Planning and coordinating media events, press briefings, industry panels, and partnerships to enhance brand positioning • Supporting Country Managers by crafting thought leadership pieces, op-eds, and interview responses that reflect Yango Group’s corporate vision • Monitoring regulatory and policy developments in the ride-hailing and mobility sectors and advising on potential PR risks and opportunities
You might be a fit if you have
• At least 2 years of experience in PR and communications, preferably in a tech or international company • Fluency in Portuguese and English (spoken and written) • A proven track record in crisis communication and reputation management • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with experience advising leadership • The ability to manage multiple high-stakes projects while ensuring top-quality execution • An understanding of regulatory and policy-related communications in Lusophone Africa’s mobility and tech sectors • Experience in technology, SuperApps, ride-hailing, or mobility (preferred)
