Yango is looking for a Head of Operations in Senegal with leadership experience and fluent English to lead the hub operations team, manage courier partnerships, and ensure service quality.
Yango is a tech-driven company offering delivery and mobility services in multiple international markets. We are looking for a Head of Operations to oversee hub activities in Senegal. In this role, you will manage the local team, ensure seamless cooperation with courier partners, and maintain high service standards. The role requires strong leadership skills, a hands-on approach to operations, and the ability to work cross-functionally with commercial and support teams.
You will be responsible for
• Leading the operations unit, managing the team, and guiding them toward consistent performance • Working with sales managers to identify key customer operational needs and designing tailored solutions • Identifying inefficiencies together with the back-office and coordinating improvements with local and international teams • Initiating and driving short and long-term work plans to ensure strong performance and operational scalability • Monitoring service quality and proactively identifying causes of operational deviations related to courier and partner company performance • Analyzing incidents and operational flaws together with the support team and product lead • Proposing and helping implement measures to improve operational efficiency • Developing and maintaining relationships with courier subcontractor companies, serving as their main point of contact • Understanding courier behavior, motivation, and pain points through field research and data analysis, while fostering trust and engagement • Coordinating the implementation of operational processes and projects • Contributing to the development of cooperation terms and schemes with partners and couriers

• Experience leading a team and the ability to build one from the ground up • Strong leadership qualities and the ability to inspire trust • Deep understanding of supply management in marketplace settings • Experience working with couriers and insight into their challenges and working conditions • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • A solid grasp of unit economics, operations, and data-driven processes • A structured, process-focused mindset with entrepreneurial initiative • Fluency in English • Experience in last-mile delivery or the tech industry (preferred)
