Terms, Conditions, and Limitations that apply to Republic of Namibia 

The following terms, conditions, and limitations apply to any advertisement materials:

Yango is an informational service and not a transportation or taxi services provider. Transportation services are provided by third parties. Any statements displayed are for informational purposes only and do not constitute an offer or promise.

Where a relevant badge is displayed, the following is applicable:

App Store is a trademark of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries.

Google Play and the Google Play logo are trademarks of Google LLC.

The following terms, conditions, and limitations apply to any advertisement materials which display a price of a ride:

The prices displayed (i) are not an offer or promise, (ii) are estimates and actual prices may vary depending on traffic, time of the day, demand and other conditions, (iii) relate to rides ordered within the area(s) in Namibia where the Yango service is available, and (iv) are valid for a limited period of time and may be changed or revoked without notice or providing any compensation or substitute.

Yango is an informational service and not a transportation or taxi services provider. Transportation services are provided by third parties.

The following terms, conditions, and limitations apply to promo codes:

(1) Available in Windhoek only.

(2) No money equivalent will be paid to compensate for unused discounts.

(3) Expired discounts cannot be renewed.

(4) If a discount does not cover the full price of the ride, the customer will be responsible for paying the balance of the price of the ride as calculated by the Yango mobile application after the application of the discount.

(5) These terms and limitations and the terms and limitations as supplied with the promo code and (or) available on this website shall be read and understood as complementary.

(6) These terms may be changed at any time by the operator of Yango service without a notice and without payment of any compensation.

Discounts for new users

The 30% (max 45 NAD) discount is valid on the first three Economy rides for new users in Lusaka until 31.12.2023.

Referral program rules
  1. Yango is an informational service.
  2. Transportation services are provided by third parties.
  3. The conditions are subject to change without notice.
  4. The 10% (NAD 5 max) discount (the ‘Friend’s Discount’) is valid from 31/01/2023, and can be applied to a ride that is made from, the date of its activation by your friend in the Yango application and until the expiration of thirty (30) calendar days from the date of such activation, provided always that your friend meets the requirements of a new user of Yango (see below).
  5. The 50% (NAD 23 max) discount (the ‘Giver’s Discount’) is valid from 31/01/2023, and can be applied to a ride that is made from, the date when you have received a notice from the Yango application that your friend has completed a ride to which the Friend’s Discount has been applied and until the expiration of thirty (30) calendar days from the date of such notice.
  6. The number of the Friend’s Discounts is limited to 999 per an individual user and no guarantee or promise, whether express or implied, is provided to you that this number will be increased after the number of the Friend’s Discounts has been exhausted. The operator of the Yango service has not duty to inform you when the Friend’s Discounts are exhausted.
  7. Only randomly selected users of the Yango application that have made at least one (1) ride which has been ordered with the Yango application can send the Friend’s Discount to a friend.
  8. No money equivalent will be paid to compensate for any unused benefit of any Discount.
  9. Expired Discounts cannot be renewed or replaced.
  10. If a Discount does not cover the full price of the ride, the recipient of the relevant discount is obliged to pay for the remaining price of the ride.
  11. The existing users of Yango (i.e., these are those who have already ordered at least one (1) ride with the Yango application) cannot use, or take any other benefit of, the Friend’s Discount.
  12. The Friend’s Discount is available only to new users of the Yango application (i.e., these are those who have never ordered any ride with the Yango application).
  13. If you have already used the Friend’s Discount for your first ride, this message is irrelevant.
  14. If you cannot activate a Discount or experience other issues with Discounts, please contact support@yango.yandex.com.
  15. These terms and limitations as well as those presented in connection with the promo code apply.
  16. Within Yango referral program from 31/01/2023 until 31/12/2023 Yango user can participate in promotional campaign “Referral contest” (“Campaign”) subject to the following terms and conditions: Definition Meaning Campaign Task Refer Friends by sharing your individual code (Friends Discount).

16.1. The Campaign is organized and performed by the Organizer. Participation in a Campaign does not automatically mean that the Participant has won the Prize. 

16.2. Limitation for amount of Friend’s Discounts specified in s. 6 above for the Campaign dates. 

16.3. If the Organizer considers that a certain participation is suspected of fraud, abuse or dishonesty it reserves the right to cancel such participation without prior notice to that Participant. 

16.4. For the avoidance of any doubt, the Organizer has no obligation to supplement the number of Prizes and/or replace the Prize. The Prize granted within this Campaign cannot be replaced or exchanged for money or other benefits. The Prize is not nominal and can be transferred by the Winner to any other individual by their choice. The Winner shall calculate, retain and remit any taxes due and arising from the Prize awarded under the Campaign. 16.5. The Organizer reserves the right to take all necessary measures in case of attempt of fraud/fraud, abuse or any other attempt that could affect the image and the conduct of the Campaign. The Organizer reserves the right to indefinitely exclude any Participant in the Campaign which Participant has not fulfilled and/or has not complied with the conditions included in the Rules. In case of fraudulent behaviour, the Organizer reserves the right to suspend/cancel at any time the rights and benefits of the Participants, without any payment or any compensation. In case the fraudulent behaviour is discovered after the award of the Prize, the Participant shall return to the Organizer the Prize or its value and any related expenses. By participating in this Campaign, the Participant declares on their own responsibility that they have been aware and agree that they are solely responsible for any consequences of non-compliance with the Rules. The Organizer shall not be liable for any damages incurred by a Participant or any third party in connection with the Prize, after the prizes are awarded, irrespective of the nature of such damages. The Organizer shall have no liability in the following cases: (a) for incomplete, inaccurate or incorrect participations, as well as for those performed after the expiry of the Campaign period, (b) subject to 6.1 above, for losses or delays in entry into possession of the prizes, determined by factors independent of the Organizer’s will or control, (c) for unannounced Internet service interruptions by their suppliers or blocking internal access due to network congestion during intense internet traffic periods, and (d) for any disputes relating to the rights of use on mobile devices where the applications have been downloaded. 16.5. In view of the implementation of the Campaign, for the specific purposes indicated here below, the Organizer will process personal data of the Participants in accordance with the Data Protection Act No. 3 of 2021. By entering in the Campaign, the Participant expressly consents to the Organizer processing their personal data in a manner contemplated in these Rules. The Participants understand that the processing of personal data in the conditions and solely for the purposes listed in these Rules is indispensable for conducting the Campaign and granting the Prize. Entering the Campaign will represent express consent for data processing in view of conducting the Campaign. 

16.6. Any disputes arising between the Organizer and the participants in this Contest shall be resolved amicably by discussions and/or negotiations and if this is not possible, disputes will be taken to the competent Namibian court authorities within four (4) days of the failure to resolve by discussion/negotiations. Any complaints related to the conduct of the Contest will be sent to the following address support@yango.yandex.com, within five (5) calendar days after the end of the Contest. After this date, the Organizer will no longer consider any complaints. Rules are governed by the laws of Namibia.

Global General Campaign Terms for Yango Users

These are the global general terms and conditions (General Campaign Terms) that apply to all promotional campaigns run for the benefit of Yango Users (User Campaigns).

User or You in these General Campaign Terms means an individual who has been registered as User on the Yango Platform. 
User Campaigns can be organised by RideTechnology Global FZ-LLC, other Yango group companies or third parties engaged by them (We or Ours as the context requires).

The purpose of the User Campaigns is to increase the number of passenger trip orders made through Yango App.

  1. Why this information is important Please read these General Campaign Terms carefully before participating in any User Campaigns, as they govern:
  • when these General Campaign Terms apply to You;
  • how We will communicate Special User Campaign terms to you;
  • Your consent to process Your personal data;
  • how You can opt-out from a particular User Campaign or from all User Campaigns;
  • how We can discontinue, suspend or change a User Campaign;
  • when We can refuse to make a User Campaign available to You.
  1. When will these General Campaign Terms apply? These General Campaign Terms apply every time You enrol in a User Campaign. By accepting these General Campaign Terms you agree to take part in all User Campaigns, unless you have opted-out from a particular User Campaign or all User Campaigns. You need to comply with these General Campaign Terms and Special User Campaign Terms.

  2. Special terms of User Campaigns Each User Campaign will also have its Special Terms, such as:

  • Organiser
  • Territory
  • Term
  • Conditions You need to meet in order to qualify for a User Campaign
  • Prize fund
  • Selection of the winner(s)
  • Awarding
  • Other special terms of a particular User Campaign.

We will notify the Special User Campaign Terms to You via email, Yango Pro App, on Yango.com website or by another way We deem appropriate.

  1. How to win in a User Campaign Each User Campaign is different, so there is no universal solution. However, here are some tips. Firstly, please examine the Special Terms thoroughly to ensure that you are eligible to participate. Secondly, please review if the Special Terms prescribe you to complete any actions/tasks (e.g. completing X rides) and complete all of them. Please note that there is no guarantee that you win even if you meet all the conditions and have completed all the actions/tasks. We hope you enjoy it anyway even if you do not win.

  2. Taxes If You win a prize in a User Campaign You must calculate and pay the income tax due for the prize, if applicable, by yourself.

  3. Personal Data By accepting these General Campaign Terms You agree to processing of your personal data by RideTechnology Global FZ-LLC, other Yango group companies specified in Privacy Notice (https://yango.com/legal/yangopro_privacy_notice) concerning specific country and, if applicable, the Organiser in view of conducting the User Campaigns, and to the transfer (including cross-border transfer) of such data between them for the same purpose. We and/or Organiser only process such personal data that is strictly necessary for the sole purpose of conducting the User Campaigns, including for the processing of results, summing up and awarding prizes, getting feedback, such as phone number, full name, trip details and/or other information specified in the Special Terms.

We and/or Organiser may ask for additional data of the winners for the purpose of awarding prizes and making any additional activities with the winners and process data such as: full name, residential address, ID details, photo, video, social networks’ usernames and/or other information specified in the Special Terms.

We may announce the results of the User Campaigns, for example We may publish some personal data of the winners on our website, our official accounts and/or groups in the social networks and/or in our app. In such cases you agree to this publication and the data may be name, surname, photo and/or any other information specified in Special Terms.

Also We may conduct some marketing activities with the winners to attract the attention to the Drivers Campaigns by publishing on the Internet (websites, articles, banners, videos, interviews). In such cases we will contact the winners in this course and request the consent to use data to arrange your participation in marketing activities.

For the avoidance of any doubt, the registration of participants and the respective provision of any personal data is entirely voluntary. You may opt-out the processing of Your personal data at any time for a particular User Campaign or all User Campaigns. Please contact our Data Protection Officer by email at dpo-yt@yango.com or our support team.

After the end of the necessary period of processing for User Campaigns, the personal data collected will be erased/destroyed in case there are no legal grounds for keeping it.

We and Organiser undertake to keep the confidentiality of the personal data and to apply the necessary and appropriate technical and organisational measures in order to protect these data from loss, accidental or illegal destruction, unauthorised disclosure or access, as well as against any form of illegal processing.

Should certain or all User Campaigns contradict the prevailing local data protection legislation, these General Terms do not apply to the organisation and conducting of those User Campaigns and those User Campaigns are not organised or conducted, including any personal data transfer provided for by these General Terms or respective Special Terms (if applicable).

  1. Intellectual Property

For participation in certain User Campaigns You shall create original intellectual property (hereinafter referred to as "IP"), such as photos, images, texts, and other creative works. By entering the User Campaign, You grant Us (in any case including RideTechnology Global FZ-LLC) a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform, display, communicate to the public (including Internet) and otherwise exploit the IP for the purposes of holding the User Campaign, public display, broadcasting, promoting, advertising, and administering the User Campaign. This license includes the right to use the IP in any media, now known or hereafter devised, for the duration of the intellectual property rights. This license includes the right to sublicense the IP to any third parties, including but not limited partners and sponsors of the User Campaign. In the event that You are selected as a winner, You agree that the IP, including all associated copyrights and other rights, shall automatically transfer to Us. Payment for the transfer of rights is included in the value of the prize, constituting 10% of the total value of the prize. While We agree to provide appropriate attribution to the Drivers whenever the IP is used, You understand and acknowledge that We are not obligated to provide such attribution. You grant Us the right to use your image, name, likeness, and other information for promotional and publicity purposes related to the User Campaigns, without further compensation or notice. You represent and warrant that Your IP does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights or any other rights of any third party. You further agree to indemnify and hold Us (in any case including RideTechnology Global FZ-LLC), our affiliates, and sublicensees harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses arising from any breach of this warranty or from the use of the IP as permitted herein.

  1. How to opt-out from a particular User Campaign or from all User Campaigns You can opt-out from a particular User Campaign or all User Campaigns at any time by letting us know. You can do this through the Yango Pro App or by emailing us at rgbesorgbor@yandex-team.ru.

  2. How can We suspend, discontinue or change any User Campaign We may suspend, discontinue or change any User Campaign at any time in its sole discretion.

  3. When We can refuse to make a User Campaign available to You 
Fraud and other irregularities Let’s play fair! Please do not cheat. Please note that should we notice any potentially fraudulent activities or irregularities (as defined below), we may immediately and without notice:

  • exclude You from a User Campaign
  • suspend the entire User Campaign
  • refuse to award you any prize.

Fraudulent activity means any attempts to defraud Yango platform, other Yango platform users or any third parties (e.g. payment service providers, payment card issuer, etc.). This may include the generation of fake or pre-arranged journeys; unauthorised usage of a payment instrument; pre-arranged journeys; price manipulations etc.

Irregularities mean any abnormal interactions with the Yango platform. Among other things, this includes self-orders, multiple successive journeys with the same passenger (device or payment instruments), excessive use of promo-codes, unusual journeys (e.g. excessive journeys that start from the same location or excessive journeys that are abnormally long or short in distance or time); abnormal levels of journeys with payment issues (chargebacks, payment instrument failures, etc.).

  1. Our right to change to these General Campaign Terms or special User Campaign terms We may amend these General Campaign Terms and special User Campaign terms at any time and without prior notice. Any such changes will immediately apply towards any User Campaigns you enrol to.

  2. Legal Bits & Pieces In case of inconsistency between these General Campaign Terms and special User Campaign terms, the latter shall prevail.

Special Terms of User Campaign for Yango users
This User Campaign is subject to Global General Campaign Terms for Yango Users that can be found here: https://yango.com/en_int/lp/usercontest.

Conditions You need to meet in order to qualify for a User Campaign: Make at least 1 ride in Yango from 16.02.2024 to 08.03.2024.

Prize fund: one smartphone 6.1-inch OLED display, Apple Bionic 16 processor, 48MP main camera

Selection of the winner(s): The User with the highest number of rides among all users from 16.02.2024 to 08.03.2024. We'll contact the winners after 10th of March.

Awarding: Organiser will invite the winners to hand over the prizes personally. The place, time, and procedure for receiving prizes will be announced additionally and communicated to you via telephone call. Organiser will try to contact the winner at least 2 times. Should you be unreachable and fail to get in touch with the Orgainser within 5 business days after the winners are announced, the Organiser reserves the right to select a new winner instead of you.

Governing law: This User Campaign shall be governed by the laws of Namibia.
