This year, Yango will be supporting university students committed to innovation
To apply, you must:
- Be enrolled in a STEM program (Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Mathematics) at an accredited university in Lusaka
- Be 18 to 25 years old
- Submit 2 letters of recommendation
- Be a citizen of Zambia (possess a green National Registration Card)
- Have a score of 6-12 points on your Grade 12 Certificate (for first-year students)
- Have passed all courses in your previous year of study
Yango partners’ drivers and couriers, their family members are strongly encouraged to apply

About the Yango Fellowship
Our mission is to bridge the gap between leading world innovations and local communities, fostering connections and enhancing everyday living experiences. It is our great pleasure to fund the Yango Fellowship Program, which will nuture Zambia’s next generation of STEM leaders through financial support, mentorship, and personal development opportunities.

How long is the fellowship?
One academic year.
When is the deadline for applications?
October 5, 2024.
How will I know that I have been selected?
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted via email or phone call.
What if I am not yet in university?
Candidates must be incoming or current university students. If you are selected, you will be required to provide proof of acceptance into a university.
What if my university is not in Lusaka?
The Yango Fellowship involves numerous networking and mentorship events that take place in Lusaka. Students in universities outside of Lusaka are not eligible to apply.
What if I attend university in Lusaka, but I’m not from there?
Students attending universities in Lusaka are eligible to apply for the Yango Fellowship, so long as they are able to attend program events such as industry tours and workshops within Lusaka.
Does this program cover my tuition fees as well?
No, this program is aimed at helping you cover your basic needs, including accommodation, internet, groceries, and more. Tuition fees are not covered by the fellowship.
Do Yango partners receive special consideration?
Yango partners’ drivers and couriers, their family members are highly encouraged to apply.
