The objective is to assess driving conduct across time taking into account the frequency and seriousness of infractions during the timeframe. Every infraction is documented in the driver's history. Surveillance is conducted throughout a 24-month timeframe, where the drivers record and total points deducted are assessed. Provided no infractions happen within this duration the system permits point restoration.
These violations deduct a small number of points and usually do not cause severe immediate repercussions though recurring instances can influence the overall score. Examples consist of not having required paperwork or neglecting to follow rules that do not pose a direct threat to other drivers.
When severe breaches occur repeatedly and pose a threat the MTC holds the power to revoke the license permanently. While the system provides opportunities to adjust driving habits it enforces limitations if the risky conduct continues.
The initial choice involves road re- programs approved by the MTC. This option is not applicable, for every violation. When it is it permits lessening the consequences of a particular offense.
The second involves restoration of the entire balance after 24 months of no infractions. This system acknowledges sustained driving.
